How we could improve the public image of the Cardano ecosystem

Cardano is only DEX and DeFi.

This is the presentation that the community gives to the world.

With the arrival of Alonzo, everyone hopes that there will be DEX and options in DeFi, leaving aside Cardano’s network potential of reaching all the functions that a blockchain can provide.

Guys like us are all day reading information about the ecosystem and rarely think of anything else, this does not happen to the rest of the world, much less will it happen to those who use the blockchain in 10, 20 or 30 years.

If we look at the environment closest to the public, which are social networks and Google search, it is tremendously difficult to find by chance a project in Cardano that is going to be presented with the Alonzo update that is not purely DEX or DeFi, that it hurts the community enormously, giving a simplistic and little elaborate appearance.

It is true that Cardano is perceived by some as a system with stake pools, but despite how novel the Cardano PoS may be, most of the people who are interested in Cardano will not go beyond this, they will not know the peculiarities of Cardano or the reasons that make it better than other blockchains, when the reality is that in Cardano there is much more than meets the eye.

This barrier must be broken.

Most of the people who have entered the crypto world need to use exchanges or DEX to acquire their tokens in order to interact with the various ecosystems, however if we want Cardano to reach all corners of society we must realize that most of it of potential audiences will not use DeFi in their lifetime. The people who can join Cardano in the years to come are not developers or investors, they are individuals with very diverse interests and needs.

What people want are video games, events, music, art, micropayments, private communication systems, email services, cloud storage and other things that we have not yet invented.

If we focus all our attention on DEXs and DeFi projects instead of other projects, we can lose the drive that would make us have a more plural ecosystem.

Cardano’s runway looks good, and it is the most promising there is, but this can change at any time if the right decisions are not made, new, more skilled competitors may also appear.

We must encourage the creation of projects of a more varied nature.
